D.R. Coffman Construction Co., is a family based business founded in 1929.  Don Coffman's grandfather started the business in Chicago doing New Construction and Remodeling. His father later joined the business and expanded it to be one of the top quality construction companies in Chicago.  Building Medical Buildings, Car Dealerships, Churches, New Homes and Remodeling. Don Coffman took over the family business in 1971 after working with his dad and grandfather since he was 10 years old, learning the trade in “The Old Craftsman Style”. 

 

Don and his family later moved to Sarasota Florida in 1983 and continued his own business:  D.R. Coffman Construction Co., in Florida. For 35 years earning the respect of the community including the #1 referral from Stottlemeyer and Shoemaker Lumber including Forest Products in the Sarasota area.  We specialize in custom homes from 1200sf to 7500sf including Residential and Commercial Remodeling.  Don Coffman continues to carry on his family heritage of Quality, Craftsman Style Construction.  He is a Florida Certified General Contractor and Construction Manager. We average 4-6 custom homes a year ranging from 1200sf to 7500sf  as well as remodeling projects, additions and custom homes built on a cost plus 15% contract method, giving customers more control of construction costs. We also do Log Homes, Commercial Build-outs, all New Construction, Development and Construction Management.
